Holiday Inn - a household name in the U.S. and beyond - is the best-know hotel chain among Americans, according to the Statista Global Consumer Survey. The brand which is often referenced in pop culture and has etched itself into the brains of many with its iconic ad campaigns is being recognized by 90 percent of Americans.
The brand was also the second-most liked by respondents to the survey. 35 percent said they felt positively about the hotel chain, surpassed only by the Hilton brand, which 38 percent said they liked (calculated based on all respondents, including those who did not recognize the brands in question).
For other brands, being well-known did not necessarily equal likability. Days Inn and Quality Inn were more recognizable but less likable than other chains, according to respondents. Best Western, on the other hand, was known as a brand to less than 80 percent of respondents. Still, 31 percent of them indicated that they liked the chain.
